The system is good for security, the application on the cell phone is good to remotely monitor as well as the video output by HDMI to the monitor, however the resolution of the cameras is not very good, I bought the 5M but it doesn't have good capture or image quality, Maybe the 8M but hey does its function. The hard drive may be bought separately or reused one they already have. Forget to use the face detected function why the face would not be seen with the 5M. I hope it helps you.
